Gene was a hardworking man who loved his family and had a deep faith in God. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially loved being a grandpa. He loved going dancing with Mary, and playing cards.
He was a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He also was a 4th Degree Knight as a member of The Knights Of Columbus, and an avid pro-life supporter.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Brand; children, Justin Brand, Christopher Brand, and Kathleen Brand; siblings, Dennis Brand, Dorothy Youngers, Alma Groner; great-grandsons, Joseph Nutter and Brendon Heier; and many extended family members and friends.
He is survived by his children, Daniel (Debra) Brand, Kevin (Melinda) Brand, Larry (Jodi) Brand, Joe (Donna) Brand, Denise (Bob) Nichols, Keith Brand; 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sylvester Brand, Doris Brand, Karlene Weber, and Leon Brand.
Visitation and Prayer Of The Holy Rosary will take place on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 6:00 PM at Christ the King Catholic Church, located at 4411 W. Maple St., Wichita, KS 67209. On Monday, February 23, 2026, the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 AM at the same location. Committal will follow at 1:00 PM at St. Mark's Cemetery located at 19230 West 29th Street North, Colwich, KS 67030.
