Evelyn M. Hamilton, age 94, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015. Evelyn was born August 30, 1921, in Oxford, Kansas, the daughter of Marshall O. and Alma E. (Quinn) Swaim. On July 17, 1946 she married Howard L. Hamilton in Wellington, Kansas. Evelyn and Howard were active members at First United Methodist Church for 49 years, where they were involved in the Triad Sunday School Class. Survivors include: husband of 69 years, Howard, of the home; daughters, Mary (Seward) Horn, Velva and husband, Rod Ellenz, Bonnie and husband, Chuck Beuning; sister, Betty and husband, Roger Heikes; grandchildren, Alex Horn; Katie and husband, Alex Ambuehl, Mike Frutiger, Nick and wife, Lauren Frutiger, Summer and husband, Jeff Eaton, Skye and husband, Chris Heeley; great grandchildren, Eloise, Desi, Eli, Willow, and Meadow. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lawrence Seward; siblings, Roland Swaim, Lawrence Swaim, Nona Hamilton, and Ruth "Bebe" Bremer; and a son-in-law, Glen Horn. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 16, with family present from 4 to 6, at Hillside Funeral Home, 2929 W. 13th Street, Wichita; Graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Wichita; Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, at First United Methodist Church, 330 N. Broadway, Wichita. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Union Rescue Mission, 2800 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219 and the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
