

Gerald John. “Jerry ' Kasperek,” 70, MSgt-R who served in the US Army for 26 years in Counseling and Supervisory duties passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017. Jerry had a passion for volunteering and gave many hours of his time to the Robert J. Dole VA Hospital, Sedgwick County Zoo, Compeer Program, Community in Schools Program and Episcopal Social Services. Jerry was a graduate of Wichita State University and had advanced degrees from Central Michigan & Bowie State University. Jerry dedicated his life to helping others improve theirs. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marion (Rasmusson) Kasperek.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Teresia “Teri” of Wichita, son Paul Kasperek of Las Vegas, NV, and siblings George (Judith) Kasperek of Greenville, NC, John (Janice) Kasperek of Eagan, MN, Mark (Shelly) Kasperek of Shorewood, MN, Jean (Bill) Paul of Blue Earth, MN and Mary Whalen of Circle Pines, MN, and sister in law, Jenifer (Larry) Kurtz of Great Bend, KS as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Rosary at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with inurnment to take place at St. Casimir Cemetery in Wells, MN at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to The Sedgwick County Zoo in memory of Jerry.
