She was born June 25, 1948, in Marysville, Kansas. She married Lynn Heath, her high school sweetheart in 1966. She gave birth to three children, Lance, Lynette, and Larissa.
Laverne was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren in all aspects of their lives. She worked as a library clerk in the Andover School District for 17 years. She was a devoted and supportive Air Force wife.
She enjoyed cooking, crafting, sewing, and quilting; just to name a few. She spent time with Lynette doing craft shows. She loved watching KU basketball games with Larissa and Dallas Cowboy games with Lance. Laverne was well-known to all that knew her as a “adopted mother and grandmother” and was known for having a supportive word or witty comment. Her laugh and sense of humor were infectious. She had a big personality and would find joy in the little things. She enjoyed helping others, often putting their needs in front of her own troubles. She will be missed by many in a variety of ways.
Laverne is survived by her husband Lynn, son Lance, daughters Lynette Heath and Larissa Palmer; grandchildren Levi, Dillon, and Cody Heath; Alex and Ashley Palmer; Matt and Brad Niblett, Melissa (Niblett) Harr; several great grandchildren, and her beloved Bichon Jack.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Lawrence and Mary Katherine Johnson, sisters Carla (Johnson) Johnson, Linda (Johnson) Crome, father-in-law and mother-in-law James Algern and Elsie Heath.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her name to the American Liver Foundation or the Endometriosis Foundation of America.
