I've just recently learned that Bob had passed and hope that his later decades in life were as fulfilling as the years I knew him at Fox-Vliet and FoxMeyer.  I rubbed shoulders and worked for him for a short time, and grew to respect his no-nonsense management style. He did not suffer fools lightly. Those were happy memories for me, and I hope they were for him as well. I appreciate all the memories shared here in photos, as I never knew his personal life and am delighted to see his expanded family and a lighter side of his life.  My best wishes and thoughts to his family from one who admired him greatly.

He will be greatly missed by many people, I didn't know him well but he left a lasting impression of a very loving father who is always eager to help others. 

Bob's daughter Elise is a friend and coworker of mine. I got the pleasure of meeting Bob when he volunteered his time to help with our work events. He was always smiling and one of the most genuine people I have met. He never met a stranger.  My prayers are with the family and he will be missed. 

I work with Elise and knew Bob through her.  Whenever he came to our workplace he always had a smile and a kind word.  I know he loved helping  people however he could and was always ready to talk about Shocker basketball.  Rest in paradise Bob.  Your kind heart will be truly missed.

I met Bob several years ago through a dear friend. Each and every time I saw him he treated me as though we had always known each other. A couple times I had helped with a church play productions. I remember so vividly how the kids just loved him. Mine included. He was like every kids grandpa. He will be dearly missed. He provided just a genuine light in a dark world. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family during this time. 

Bob married my mom in 2005. My father was already with Jesus when mom met Bob.  Bob did not have to accept us.  We didn't expect it.  But he did!  And he loved us too.  He came to my rescue so many times.  (too many times to go into - except once he drove me to KC to retrieve my children) That was just who he was!  And he was my friend which means so much.  I am so eternally grateful for having a father in Bob!  He was a gift to me and our whole family! Thank you Bob! And thank you Jesus for giving us Bob for a precious season!  Miss you so much already!

So sorry to hear of your dads passing. He was an awesome person and we are glad to have been in his life, to get to know you and Steve and your delightful children. Our condolences to your brothers and their families. May your memories carry you through your life and bring you so peace. 

I’m so sorry for your loss. I taught with Bob at Marshall and he was my number 1 substitute when I taught at Wilbur Middle School.  He always went out of his way to say hello to his teacher friends when he was in our  building. I appreciated his kind attitude at all times.  I am blessed to have known him.
