Louanne joined her husband Frank who passed away in 2015 after 62 years of marriage. Louanne and Frank were loving parents to 3 children, blessed with 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Louanne was a very proud 3rd generation Calgarian and took great joy in sharing her stories and family legacy as a member of the Southern Alberta Pioneers Association. Louanne was a wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was a stay at home Mom and later worked at variety of part time jobs with various organizations. Louanne gave freely of her time by volunteering for nearly 20 years at both Calgary General Hospital and later at the Peter Lougheed Centre.
Throughout their marriage, Louanne and Frank had a very close group of friends that they spent many happy vacations with. Whether it was camping, travelling throughout the United States or participating in horseshoe tournaments, they were always happiest spending time with the group lovingly known as “the gang”.
Louanne is survived by her two daughters Sharon Ritchie (Alan) and Jo-Anne Taylor and son Bill Gradishar (Verna). She was the beloved grandmother to Nicole, Scott, Joey Jennifer, Mitchell, Ryan, James and Emma. She took great joy in her 9 great grandchildren. Louanne is also survived by her two sisters Judy Lindsay and Paddy (Benny) Mitchell and numerous nieces and nephews. Louanne was predeceased by her husband Frank, her brother John Ferguson and grandson Billy.
We want to send our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bethany Harvest Hills for the loving care they provided Louanne during her time in the centre. Your thoughtfulness and devotion to her wellbeing will forever be remembered.
