Marilyn Emogene McKinney, age 87, formerly of Baxley, GA and recently of Dayton, OH passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, April 29, 2021. She was born in Baxley, GA on January 13, 1934 to the late Aaron and Ida Mae Sellers. She loved God and family and, while her health permitted, she enjoyed serving in the local church, gardening, and cooking.
Her husband, the late Norman L. McKinney, served in the USAF and they both loved the opportunity to live and travel across the United States.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marilyn was also preceded in death by one son, Larry McKinney (Alycia) Orlando, FL; her brother (Harold) and sister (Anita).
She is survived by four children: Kathie (Phil), Dayton, OH; Keith (Lindy) Port St. John, FL; David (Freda) Dayton, OH; and Kevin (Traci) Orlando, FL. She is also survived by two brothers: Maxwell Sellers (Savannah, GA) and Dwight Sellers (Alma, GA). She was proud grandmother to Andy, Mark, Ben, Lauren, Patrick, Brandon, Chris, Elizabeth, Abigail, Hope, Luke and Aaron and great-grandmother to nine great grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Morton Whetstone Funeral Home in Vandalia, OH and Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home in Orlando, FL. Visitation will be held at the Baldwin Fairchild Chapel at Chapel Hill at 12:30pm followed by the funeral service at 1:30pm on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 1:30 PM with Rev, Danny Strickland officiating.
