He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Eugenia Lockhart Underhill. They moved to Houston from Belton, Missouri in 1996 to be closer to their grandchildren. Surviving him is his wife of 10 years, Mignonette Heath Underhill and her son , Pat Pacion, his daughter Tracey Patterson and son in law Daniel Patterson, and grandchildren Samuel and Molly Patterson.
Chuck served in the United States Air Force for 23 years being stationed in Maine, Wyoming, New York, Majorca, Texas, Spain, California, New Jersey, and Missouri. He served in the Korean War and Vietnam War. He proudly served his country and community.
Chuck was a Freemason and received his 50 year service award on February 12, 2014. He was member of the First United Methodist Church in Katy, Texas. He will have a military and Masonic funeral service.
After retiring from the military, Chuck worked for 20 years in electrical engineering for the Federal Aviation Administration in Olathe, Kansas.
Chuck was loved by everyone. He was active in his Sunday School Class, Good Sams, and served on the church council for many years. He was always kind, generous, supportive, and encouraging.
Family and friends gathered during a visitation from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, February 17 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston.
Funeral services were held at 12:00pm on Saturday, February 18 in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church-Katy, 5601 5th Street in Katy, Texas.
