Alexander was the younger brother of Charles Ronald Middleton, and they were the sons of Charles Buster Middleton and Dorothy Bryant Parsons.
His birth name was William Roy Middleton, but he had it legally changed to Alexander Granville in about 1995.
Alex first met his future wife in August 1976. He later married Casey Olsson in 1996. They had no children.
He trained as a Russian linguist while in the US Air Force. While working for the defense department, he had a close encounter with God, and his life took a dramatic turn. After his government service, he went to work as a buyer for a retail chain in northern Virginia.
From retail, he went into wholesale which led to insurance and financial planning. His wife wryly commented that Alex was an athlete making a living in the business world. "Anything with a stick and a ball, he'd excel!"
Ordained as a Word of Faith minister in 1999. His spare time was spent in theological pursuits and related research.
