Tracy grew up in Denver, Colorado, the third of four children born to Gloria and Manuel Vialpando. She graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. She is survived by her daughter Stephanie Vialpando; her mother Gloria Villanueva; her brother Victor Vialpando; three grandchildren, Gabriel, Israel and Nariah; her niece Desirae Vialpando, nephews to whom she was Nana: Joseph and Manuel Vialpando; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, her brothers Steve and Manuel, her maternal grandmother Seferina Romero, her paternal grandmother Sarah Vialpando, her maternal grandfather Steve LaCrue and her paternal grandfather Felipe Vialpando.
For the past 15 years, Tracy worked at the cafeteria at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, where she used her culinary skills to add new items to the menu. She made many friends and was well loved by her customers. Tracy always wanted to do her best for “my customers.” The neighborhood children knew her as “Auntie Tracy” who always gave them treats, but sent them home if they started fighting or misbehaving.
Tracy hid a heart of Gold under a crusty exterior, however, when she flashed her mischievous, happy smile everyone knew that she cared for them in her own special ay. Tracy will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Please do a random act of kindness in her name today.
