James Bruce Cornwall, age 64, was born November 2nd, 1955 in Coupeville, WA and left us unexpectedly on May 18th, 2020 in Mountlake Terrace, WA. During his last years, he battled diabetes and kidney problems. Jim was the third child of six children born to Ralph and Ruth Cornwall. He grew up in a military family and thus had many homes throughout his life time. The family made Lakewood, WA their home when they returned from Germany in 1971. Jim graduated in 1974 from Lakes High School in Lakewood, WA and then attended the University of Washington Seattle in the fall of 1974. He graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Following graduation, Jim worked at the University of Washington’s Early Childhood Development program as their business administrator and retired in 2012. He moved to the Mountlake Terrace in 1991.
Growing up, Jim was active in the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Life Scout. He was an avid hiker, camper and later on became very active in kayaking. He loved kayaking on the Wenatchee River, near Wenatchee, WA. He also enjoyed watching football, especially UW and the Seahawks.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph W. Cornwall in 2009 and Ruth A. Cornwall in 2013. He is survived by brother Wayne Cornwall and wife Suekii, brother Charles Cornwall and husband Manuel, sister Mary (Cornwall) Healey, brother David Cornwall and wife Debra, sister Nancy (Cornwall) Rohona and husband Mike, several nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews. We will miss you Jim, rest easy and be at peace.
