Charles “Chuck” Kimball Brook, 71, of Glastonbury, loving husband of 25 years of Jennifer L. (Martin) Brook, peacefully journeyed Home on Friday (April 16, 2021) at St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven. Born in Duluth, MN on June 25, 1949, a son of the late Kimball M. and Janet E. (Pond) Brook, he had been a resident of Glastonbury for most of his life. Chuck was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. A talented woodworker, he was a self-employed carpenter who also worked at Toll Brothers in Glastonbury and REB Machine Shop in Glastonbury. He was also very skilled in repairing automobiles and motorcycles, and was always willing to help his family and friends with their repairs. Chuck was a longtime friend of Bill W., a fan of NASCAR, and loved listening to music.
In addition to his beloved wife Jennifer, Chuck is survived by his daughter, Paige “Ezra” Brook of Glastonbury; a sister, LeeAnn Brook of Nevada City, CA; a sister-in-law, Gretchen Maxwell and her husband Audley of San Antonio, TX; his mother-in-law, Florence Martin of Hartford; several cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and dear neighbors.
Due to the current health pandemic, a private graveside service with military honors will be held at the convenience of the family at Old Buckingham Cemetery, Glastonbury. There are no calling hours. A public Celebration of Life honoring Chuck will be Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 4pm at Diamond Lake, Lake Shore Trail, Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Chuck’s name may be made to The Open Hearth, 150 Charter Oak Avenue, Hartford, CT 06106. The D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
