She was born January 25, 1924, to Charles S. and Pearl McKinney in Beckley and was the 4th of 7 children.
Eileen was a beautician and ran her own business for 25 years retiring in 1994. Upon retirement, she went to live with her son Larry and his family in Lewisville, TX. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lewisville and loved quilting, bowling, and taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred F. Gambrell, parents Charles S. and Pearl McKinney, brothers; James (Otto) McKinney and Charles (Claude) McKinney, and sister; Alta Thompson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Larry, granddaughter Jeanette Guy of Flower Mound, TX, great-granddaughter Lilian Camp and their families, sisters; Dora Robbins of Roanoke, VA, Louise Grinstead of Woodstock, VA, and Anna Ruth Pioch of Dover, OH along with many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Monday, October 18th at 2:30 pm at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
