Robert Eric Skinner, Age 68, Inverness, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born December 13, 1951, he was the only son of the late Robert Daniel and Annie Mae Skinner, (Inverness). He worked on many jobs across Canada for a big part of his life but his heart was always in Cape Breton. He worked until 2008 when he first became sick. He loved fishing and hunting. He loved exploring the outdoors and tinkering in his garage. He also loved going for drives in the country and telling stories. He had all the time in the world to talk to his friends and even strangers; he was never in a hurry. He had a great love for all animals, especially, his little Peggy Sue. He could be found sitting in his truck, with the windows down on a summer day, on the beach hill. He loved to watch the boats come in and out. He is survived by his loving wife, Marion; his son, Danny; his grandson, Cohen; and his sister, Arlie.
Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Friday, July 31 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in St. John's United Church, Strathlorne on Saturday, August 1 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Maggie Plant celebrating.
