Ken graduated from Massena Public School in 1951. He would earn a Master’s Degree in Education at Alabama A&M. Ken served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, after serving he went on to retire from civil service MMCS at Redstone Arsenal. Ken became a Master Mason in Loop Lodge 895, Mobile in 1960, a Charter Member of Solar Lodge 914 F&AM, Huntsville, served as Worshipful Master in 1969 and a Secretary for more than 34 years. Grand Marshal of the Grand Lodge of Alabama in 1983, District Lecturer for Madison and Limestone County for more than 11 years, served on the Grand Lodge Committee on Work 1980 as well as on many other Grand Lodge committees. Life Membership in the Huntsville York Rite bodies where he served as secretary for 7 years.
Ken is survived by sister, Kathleen McKee; son, K. Wayne McVay; daughter, Donna Kay Watts; stepdaughter, Judy Kimbrow; stepson, Tim Kimbrow; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Vonia M McVay.
A graveside service for Ken will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Valhalla Memory Garden with entombment to follow.
