

Rebecca Sue Jurgens, the daughter of Lewis Elwood and Edith Mae (Easterday) was born October 11, 1948 in Arkansas City, Kansas. Sue passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021, at Lutheran Medical Center, Wheat Ridge, CO at the age of 73 from Covid-19.
Sue, as she was known to her friends and family, was raised in Ark City, Kansas and graduated from Ark City High School in 1966. She attended Cowley County Community College and obtained a certificate in Cosmetology. Sue lived in Kansas, Arkansas and eventually made her residence in Colorado. Sue was an extremely hard worker and served in her chosen profession for 53 years. She owned and operated multiple hair salons throughout the years. She supervised over a dozen booth renters at the age of 17.
Sue loved to waterski, dance, garden and dedicated her life to helping those in need, both through the churches she attended and local mission work. She never liked missing out on a good estate sale. She loved hunting and was a remarkable shot; she cared deeply for animal life especially her dogs. She loved watching animal shows and loved her family most of all. She made friends easily and knew no stranger. Sue was loved by so many people of which her family is very grateful. Sue went on to be part of numerous blended families throughout her life and retained friendships in each circumstance.
Sue married Vance Jurgens on December 30, 1999 in Huron, South Dakota and shared a deep love with one another for nearly 22 years. They moved multiple times after they married due to Vance’s career. Sue was always instrumental in making each move a smooth transition and loved the adventure of living and seeing new places.
Sue is survived by her husband, Vance of Arvada, CO; sons, Lance Hill (Stephanie); Brandon Hill (Kandice Loux) all from Arvada, CO; Bryan Acheson (Rachael) of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Brodie, Blake, Kassie and Hana and great grandchildren, Ellis and Jovie, loving cousins; her nephew, Nathan Cook (Ark City, KS) and niece Erika Cook (Missouri); special friends David Acheson (Lakewood, CO) and Craig Sorenson (Parker, CO) and a host of friends.
Preceding her in passing were her parents and her younger brother, Wayne Cook.
