She and her late husband, George Mohr, Jr., resided in the Greenbriar Cove Community in Ooltewah, TN until 2016. Her remaining years were spent in McDonough, GA until her passing.
Martiel was a headstart teacher with the Catholic Diocese. She was creative, talented, and full of humor, wit and spunk. She was the life of the party and truly enjoyed her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Nona Swain, husband, George Mohr, Jr., and two brothers, Stephen and Albert Swain.
Survivors include her eight children, George Mohr, III, Darryl Mohr, Merle Tate, Mike Mohr (Beverly), Cedric Mohr (Alisha), Karen Taylor (Stanley), Brian Mohr, Renee Graham (Larry), fourteen grandchildren, Kevin, Jessica, Roman, Eric, Jeffrey, John, Matthew, Andria, Ashleigh, Stuart, Kayla, Michael, Dominic, Aidan, ten great grandchildren, Kevin, Jr., Tyler, Morgan, Ryan, Nathan, Matthew, Mykayla, Dante, Tyler John, Janea, brother, Leonard Swain and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 7111 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN 37421, with Father Manuel Perez officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the organization of one’s choice.
