Great memories of Bill and his Dad including me in some trips to Duffy's Tavern in Amherstburg, Canada.  Pickerel, Molsons and lots of laughs.  Learned to water ski behind Bill Sr's old wooden runabout.
Ski's were like a surboard cut in half.  If ya couldn't get up on them, you just couldn't ski.  Loved them both.

No this is not “that” Bill Fenwick reaching back from beyond the veil.  :-)    The memories shared and condolences offered have offered at the passing of my father have meant the world to our family.  

I have read and reread your posts many times and I often find myself staring at his picture, smiling and remembering my dad through the eyes of a son.  From teaching me how to use every power tool imaginable in the pursuit of the fastest pinewood derby car,  to how to use a pump-tank fertilizer sprayer to stain a fence (and the house, and the grass, and landscaping), or how to rebuild a 2.3L carbureted 4 cylinder when you decide that doing donuts in a church parking lot with no oil in the engine is a good idea.  By the way - we did take first place in the 1982 Pack 268 Pinewood Derby and I still have the car and the trophy.  No offense to Mr. Allen, but in my eyes, my dad was the original and best “Tool Man.”  

He also thought me that no matter how engrained in your upbringing the “1950’s roles “may be, that a man can and must change.  As an example, and he may have gone kicking most of the way, but I did see him embrace many non-traditional tasks around the house.  Although he was much more comfortable fixing the dishwasher than filling and emptying it, he did it.  Again, through the eyes of a son - I learned from him that in a relationship - no one can stay stagnant.  We all must evolve and change for our family 

Thank you dad - for the man you were and all you thought me.  I will work to be a better husband, father, and son with all you did and showed. Keep watching over us as you always did until we are all together again one day in His House. I miss you everyday.

We just returned from a motor home trip and were shocked by the news of Bill's passing.  We will fondly remember all the great times we had on boat trips and Belvidere Boat Club, and even the not so great times like the rough seas in the North Channel.  One thankful memory was the desert storm return gift where Bill and Denny Turala cleaned and waxed our boat for the upcoming season.
Our thoughts and prayers will be with Barb, Bill Jr, Kristin and their families.  We'll drink a Manhattan and toast Bill's honor.

Our condolences for your loss, and may God comfort you in this time. We wish we could be there in person with you and grieve with you in person.  We will miss Bill and his humor at family get togethers but know he is now smiling and laughing in heaven, and one day we will see him again. Love, the Eichhorst family

I wish to express deepest sympathy to Barb, Billy, Kristin and the rest of the family.

I didn’t get to see you all often, but when we did Bill was always a joy to talk to. He was a great kidder and had a special sense of humor.

There was something selfless about his humor in that it was often self deprecating in order to draw others out of their shell and make them laugh. I will always remember meeting Barb and Bill for lunch at a particularly low time in my life and leaving a lot happier.

He went out of his way to talk to everybody and joke around with them at every family function which I know my Mom, Lois and son, Trevor always enjoyed.

He will be sorely missed. We offer all our love, prayers and assistance, if needed,

I’m so very sorry for your  loss. May you find peace with your many beautiful memories

I have so many memories of my old friend. We became very close in high school. We were at each other's homes seemingly constantly.  We enjoyed the same music.  Spent lots of time on the river with Bill Sr. and a few fond memories of trips to Duffy's Tavern in Amherstburg.  The pickerel was outstanding. Couple of those return trips in the dark were a bit dangerous!  We were stationed on different ships during our time in the Navy, but home ported in Norfolk, VA. So, when not deployed, we'd see each other often.  Spent many fun weeks up north, boating, skiing, partying.  Worked together at Sterling Detroit for a number of years.  He nearly put my eye out while we were shooting end mill covers at each other with compressed air from one side of the shop to the other.  Thought I was gonna drown one morning on Lake Charlevoix skiing behind Bill. He didn't see me try to drop a ski and I fell.  Arm tangled in rope and I was diving deep. Bobber saved my glasses and we laughed about it for years.  I have missed him over the years. He was a fine man and a dear friend. My memories of Bill and Babs are indelibly etched in my mind.  Will be so very happy to one day, see him again.
