We host all types of services—from traditional church services to contemporary Celebrations of Life® with music and catered receptions. Our funeral home in Charlotte offers a 150-seat chapel as well as a dedicated reception area and 2 visitation rooms for gatherings. History

Our funeral home's history dates back over 90 years. We have had the wonderful opportunity to serve the Charlotte community with the same values we were founded on many decades ago.

Building relationships

In 1926, the late D.K. Sing formed a partnership with Benjamin E. Douglas—the mayor of Charlotte from 1935-1941 and namesake of Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Together, they established the Douglas & Sing Mortuary at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Fox Street. Douglas & Sing Mortuary operated the 1st ambulance service in Charlotte.

The Miller & Kerns years

Our funeral home changed hands in the '50s when 2 employees of Douglas & Sing Mortuary, Bill Miller and Marcus Kerns, purchased the location and established the Miller & Kerns Funeral Home at 333 Hawthorne Lane.

Current location

In 1980, Donald R. Wilson purchased Miller & Kerns Funeral Home and established Miller, Kerns & Wilson Funeral Service. Wilson purchased a building on Albemarle Road, formerly Good Shepard Lutheran Church, and re-established our funeral home as Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service.

Today, we continue our dedication of serving the East Charlotte community with all their burial and cremation needs.
