Bereavement assistance††† and continued care for your loved ones

Grief doesn’t end just because a funeral does. We offer grief counseling for 13 months after services are provided and access to an extensive grief library for as long as you or your loved ones need it.

Giving Denver residents a unique farewell

We can help create a unique and beautiful funeral celebration for your loved one. Start with a story, passion, hobby or dedication to a vocation that defined their life. Think about the meaningful ways to incorporate these special characteristics into a fitting and unique memorial tribute designed to honor your loved one. We can help personalize any memorial, whether a traditional religious service or a more contemporary celebration of life.

Imagine an outdoor-themed service for someone who loved nature, with guests wearing hiking boots and flannel. Offer monogrammed compass keepsakes for friends and family to take on their next adventure. Or perhaps a gardening-themed memorial for the green thumb in your life with potted flower centerpieces on round tables.

Those choosing cremation can also be honored with memorial services. We can help you plan a viewing beforehand or a burial or scattering of remains afterward. A celebration of life can be held after cremation with or without remains present, or when it is the most convenient for friends and family to gather. From canoeing to running, pottery to painting, quilting to singing, we discover what made a person special and create a tribute like no other.

We can help with burial and cremation options

Choosing a final resting place is an important decision, which is why we offer as many options as possible to ensure your needs are met. Memorialization offers family members and loved ones a permanent place of remembrance and reflection. Whether you prefer traditional ground burial or cremation with lasting remembrance, we can help find the best options for you.

If you prefer traditional burial or aboveground memorialization, we offer crypt entombment including private mausoleums, indoor or outdoor mausoleums, private family estates, lawn crypts, and customized memorials with options for flat and upright monuments. We can help answer any questions you have about cemetery property.

Olinger has a private crematory, which means your loved one never leaves our care. In addition to ground burial of cremated remains, our cremation memorialization options include cremation niches, columbaria or memorial benches. A cremation garden offers options for unique, personalized remembrance. Cemetery property options vary by location. We’re here to help answer all your questions.

Our funeral homes are dedicated members of the Denver community

Olinger’s Denver funeral homes have been pivotal members of the community for generations, and our commitment to our local and regional community can be seen throughout the history of Olinger funeral homes. Many of our locations host free funeral planning seminars and events that are open to the public. We understand that funeral planning can be confusing and want to educate Denver-area families on the options available.

Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery was recognized by the Thornton Police Department for commitment to the community in 2017, and was awarded an American flag from the World Trade Center.

We serve veterans who have served our nation

Veterans and their families have sacrificed so much for our country, and are entitled to memorial tributes befitting their service. We understand the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. Our staff is knowledgeable in the benefits available to veterans so we can ensure your loved one is laid to rest with the respect, integrity and dignity he or she deserves.

Olinger locations partner with We Honor Veterans, a program in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs to improve care for veterans. We will walk you through the steps of creating a veteran's memorial service that truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one.

We believe that every veteran deserves a dignified and honorable burial. The Dignity Memorial® Homeless Veterans Burial Program provides homeless and indigent veterans proper military burials.

We host annual community events

In addition, we host annual community events to honor our veterans on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. We’re also proud to work closely with local veterans organizations to recognize members of each military branch. Proud to preserve Denver-area landmarks

As a longtime members of the Denver community, Olinger Mortuaries & Cemeteries have become home to several notable area landmarks. We’re proud to maintain these spaces for our community.

Designed in 1926, the construction of the Tower of Memories mausoleum at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery was initially stalled due to World War II. Today, the Gothic-meets-modernistic tower of granite is considered a Denver landmark and is noted for its rare architectural style.

The huge illuminated cross along Highway 285 above Morrison was built by Francis VanDeber in 1964 so his wife could see his final resting spot from her home in Denver. At 393 feet high and 254 feet wide, the cross is the largest illuminated cross in the United States. The cross has guided Denverites across the city for years, and is visible from as far as Aurora on a clear day.

The Columbine Memorial, honoring the teacher and 12 students who died on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School, is permanently housed at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery. The memorial includes 13 black granite crosses, each with a person's name and portrait.

When the trees at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery were planted over a century ago, they were arranged in clusters, rather than in rows or a grid pattern. Horticulturists have noted the impressive collection of trees. With over 1,700 trees of 69 different species, Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery was declared an arboretum in 2007. The oldest section of the cemetery was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

A history of quality funeral service in the Denver Area

George W. Olinger and five entrepreneurs founded the Crown Hill Cemetery in 1907. George and his business associates planned to build one of the finest cemeteries in the Denver area. With a 180-acre land purchase, the Crown Hill Cemetery Association quickly made their vision a reality.

In 1920, the Littleton Creamery Company building was sold when dairy production decreased and operations ceased. A funeral home took its place—the Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel stands today as the second-oldest business in Castle Rock.

In the 1940s, Olinger Mount Lindo Cemetery began to serve Denver-area families. In 1950, Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery was established to serve the South Denver community with quality burial options. The funeral chapel was built in 1963 and the mortuary was established in 1992.

In 1952, Olinger Highland Cemetery began to serve Thornton, Colorado, adding a mortuary in 1965. Founded in 1959, Olinger Hampden Cemetery was built to help serve the needs of the Hampden, Englewood, Glendale and Greater Denver areas. The mortuary was added later.

Established in 1961, Olinger Moore Howard Chapel served the North Denver community. After serving the area for nearly 60 years, the doors at Olinger Moore Howard Chapel closed for the last time in early 2019. Beginning in the 1980s, Olinger Eastlawn Cemetery began providing a beautiful setting for memorialization in Aurora and Eastern Denver.
