Customizable and Personalized Funeral Home Spaces

Chapel at Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral HomeAcacia Funeral Home has three spaces for funeral services. The largest chapel seats 120 people in rows of chairs. The room can be reconfigured with tables and chairs for less formal memorial services or even a catered event. The more intimate Fireside Room seats 20 to 25 people in a living space with couches, chairs, and an inviting fireplace. With pictures of flowers on the walls, the Garden Room holds about 50 people. Typically set up with tables, the room can also accommodate rows of chairs. All of our non-denominational chapels have state-of-the-art AV screens for showing multimedia tributes—which we can create for you—and double as visitation rooms.

Personalized Celebration of Life and Memorial Services

Celebration of life venue for services, gatherings and receptions at Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral HomeAcacia Funeral Home serves people of all cultures and religions, and we focus on personalized memorial services. We believe unique lives deserve unique celebrations. Our experienced staff knows just how to create your vision or bring your loved one's final wishes to reality. We offer everything from a traditional funeral to a modern celebration of life.

Personal touches can be small—photo displays and speeches by friends are common—or more elaborate. We could hang a cross behind the casket, have a kayak at the front door, give out cotton candy at the end of the service or wear the jerseys of a person's favorite sports team. And if it's a grand celebration of life that you're looking for—a modern gathering with themed decor, live music, favorite food and drinks, and a send-off that reflects the personality and passions of yourself or your loved one—that's our specialty. These are just a few ideas. Let's imagine something special together.

Specialized Cremation Services in Seattle

Glass niches at Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral HomeWe specialize in cremation services that honor loved ones in personalized ways, and families love our transparent pricing. With expertise in scattering ashes and a friendly team who pays attention to every detail, we provide service that is second to none. And now we offer both traditional flame cremation and water cremation.

More and more people are choosing cremation over traditional burial, but most aren’t familiar with the many options. They include: a cremation without a funeral or memorial service of any kind, a funeral with your loved one present, followed by cremation, a cremation followed by a scattering, cemetery memorialization or celebration of life—or all three.

For those who wish for a more momentous memorial, Neptune Memorial Reef® is an underwater cremation garden off the coast of Florida. A Celestis Memorial Spaceflight takes ashes into space for a little while or forever. There are many cremation providers—and they're not all equal. Here's what you can expect when you choose us for your loved one's cremation.

Custody of care guaranteed. Our custody-of-care program helps safeguard the identification of your loved one from the time we bring them into our care until the time we return them to your family. We check, cross-check and check again, every step of the way.

Exclusive custody of your loved one. We use only crematories owned and operated by Dignity Memorial® providers or trusted partners. Once your loved one is in our custody or that of a trusted partner, they’re in our care until they’re returned to your family.

Licensed, certified, conscientious staff. All Dignity Memorial crematory operators are licensed and certified by Cremation Association of North America, or CANA. Only one person at a time is cremated, and the cremation chamber is thoroughly cleaned before the next person is cremated.

Introducing Eco-Friendly Resting Alternatives

Human composting is an alternative to burial and cremation. Inside a vessel created especially for this purpose, organic elements, such as wood chips, mulch and wildflowers, gently transform a body into nutrient-rich soil. Your family may choose to use this soil to plant trees or flowers, or you can place it in a location meaningful to you. The remaining soil is sent to conservation land on the Olympic Peninsula to aid projects such as reforestation, improving soil health and restoring challenged ecosystems.

History

Founded in 1926 by the Greater Seattle Masonic Lodge, Acacia Memorial Park symbolizes rebirth and tradition. In 1927, Fred Burnaby and his family became the new caretakers. The gardens are designed as a Celtic cross from above, offering a tranquil and meaningful setting. The mausoleum's construction began in 1928, with its first phase completed in 1931, beginning a legacy of remembrance.

Development of the cemetery continued until 1972, and today the original mausoleum spans 3.5 acres, bathed in natural light. It features 29 stunning stained glass pieces alongside leaded glass skylights. Construction of the Lakeview Mausoleum began in 1977, with its first phase completed by 1979. This structure boasts a serene, sunlit atrium with a Japanese garden, complete with a waterfall and reflecting pool.

Established adjacent to the cemetery in 1964, Acacia Funeral Home joined as a sister location in 1999, enhancing its offerings. Renovated in 2000, the facility features custom glasswork by local artists. In 2007, it was further modernized with an audiovisual suite. Now part of the Dignity Memorial® network, Acacia Memorial Park and Funeral Home provide comprehensive funeral, cremation, and cemetery services.
