Patricia Ann (Carpenter) Myers passed away on April 17, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born in Port Washington, New York, where she met her husband Ray while he was serving in the Air Force. They married and started their family in New York and later moved to Ames, Iowa, in the early 1960’s.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Entombment of ashes will take place at the columbarium in Nevada Cemetery at a later date.
In her younger years, she loved fishing and camping with family and was always up for a good garage sale. She and Ray enjoyed trips to New York, Tennessee, and Washington state to visit extended family. She loved to visit casinos in the area, and we teased her that she was spending our inheritance. She had a great sense of humor and was always asked about her New York accent, which she never lost.
Pat’s greatest joy was her family. Along with her husband of 74 years, she is survived by her daughters, Debra Watson and Wendy Stevens, and her son, Scott Myers. She had seven grandchildren: Ben Watson (Ashley), Becky Watson (Alex), Megan Driscoll (Brian), Jillian Stevens (Mike), Ashley Paul (Nick), Matt Myers, and Leah Myers. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Trayton, Zoe, Logan, Max, Harper, Kendall, Dane, Oden, and Sidney. Pat is also survived by one sister-in-law, Annabell, and many special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Lucy and Elmer Carpenter, three brothers, Gene, Brud, and Bobby, and a sister, Susan Smith.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, Iowa, for the care they provided. She didn’t like that she needed to be there, but she always mentioned how much she loved those who cared for her. There are angels among us.
