

Stanley Bruce was born September 24, 1919 in Carman, Manitoba, Canada to Charles and Alice Bruce. He married Ruth Fisher on March 2, 1946 in Carman, Manitoba.
He worked for Federal Grain in Stephenfield, Manitoba for 10 years. He then worked for ESSO service stations (Imperial Oil Co.). They moved to Ames in July, 1965. He worked in the line department for the City of Ames from 1967-1984.
He was a charter member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club and a charter member of the Kueens and Kings Hi-Lo Camping Club.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Bruce of Ames; three children, Glenn (Carolyn) Bruce and Bob (Nancy) Bruce, all of Huxley, and Arlene Larson of Ames; six grandchildren, Mark (Angela) Bruce and Aaron (Nicole) Bruce, all of Bondurant, Lynsey (Darin) McDaniel of York, NE, Kolton Bruce of Huxley, Matt Marietta of Grinnell, and Nick (Holly) Marietta of Las Vegas, NV; 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ellen Galbraith of Carman, Manitoba, and Alice Andrews of Selkirk, Manitoba; and one brother, Andrew Bruce of Carman, Manitoba.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ethel; and brother, Jim.
