Angela Angel Smith Angela Delores Smith Martin

She moved to the Triangle in 1946 and with the support of her husband became an avid sports fan, following NC State for 65 years. While her health declined over the past several years, her fervor for the Wolfpack, Braves and jazz music never wavered. Sports, along with her family, were the loves of her life.

Survivors include her children, Andrew S. Martin of Raleigh, Daniel K. Martin and wife Catherine of Apex, and Linda M. Flynn and husband Kerry of Asheville; grandchildren, Scott Maggiolo, Jacqueline Carver, Katherine Willcox, and Zach Martin; 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great –great- granddaughter ; brothers, Andrew and Richard Smith; special friend of the family, Salah Youssef, and caregiver, Maria Lameck. She is predeceased by her husband, Pullen Dalton Martin who died in 1987; her grandson, Alex Martin who died in 2004, and 5 other siblings.

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 11 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3008 Old Raleigh Road, Apex NC. Family will greet friends from 10:30 AM until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park in Raleigh.
