He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sarah Bryson Council, daughter Sarah Lynette Edwards, her husband Ronnie Edwards, son Richard Wray Council, his wife Delecia Kantz Council, granddaughter Jessie Iannone, grandsons Josh, Hunter, Bryson and Jeb Edwards, Brody and Tanner Council, and brother Lester Council. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leamon and Vivian Council, brothers Auba and Ralph, and sisters Elsie and Grace.
Billy lived his life enjoying his family, friends and a herd of animals to the fullest. He loved fishing, hunting, farming and riding his horses. He will be remembered for his strong opinions and zest for life. He was known to sell holes in the ground during his years as a well driller and was known for "telling it like it is" whether people wanted to hear it or not. He will be missed by all, but will never be forgotten.
Visitation Sunday April 21st 2-4pm at Apex Funeral Home with a celebration of his life on Monday April 22nd 2pm at Green Level Baptist church.
