Billy Keel Everett

Billy was born June 28, 1934 to the late Joseph Henry and Dora James Everett. He was the youngest of 9 children. Billy served honorably in the US Navy from 1955-1957. He retired after 30 years of service as a mechanic in the National Elevator Industry. He was employed by Otis Elevator as a service mechanic at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill for most of his later years in the industry. Billy was an active member of the Chatham County Republican Party.

Billy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Viola (Vicki) McNeill Everett; son, Joseph and wife, Jane; adored grandson, Sam; sister, Evelyn Gersch of Apex and brother David Curtis Everette of Pittsboro. He is also survived by a numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held in Billy’s honor at 2:00 p.m. on October 2, 2016 in the Apex Funeral Home Chapel. An internment service will follow at Apex Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home.
