Catherine Lee Cameron

Catherine was the daughter of Reverend Hugh and Maryella Cameron of Apex, NC. She was born on December 4, 1969. Cathy attended School in Durham, NC; graduated from High School in Smithfield, NC and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Her career concentrated in Property Management. In recent years, Cathy was employed with RealPage Corporation of Texas. This last part of her career brought new opportunities to train clients in the property management software developed by the YieldStar division of the Corporation. Cathy received many awards and honors throughout her career. She was humbly grateful for each of them but was always surprised to receive the honor for she said she was “just doing my job.”

Cathy will be remembered as a kind, generous, loving and “classy” lady. She cherished her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with each of them. Cathy especially loved to travel. She excelled in all things of a creative nature, and was an excellent public speaker. Cathy often wrote “love letters” to family and friends for their special occasions. The joy of her life was her daughter, Abby; who she inspired to be brave, and to try new things.

Catherine is survived by her parents, her daughter, Abigail Caroline Cameron, Lyle Thomas; sisters, Betsy Tang (husband Eric) of Kernersville, NC, and Julie Oram (husband Jeff) of Apex; nieces, Ashley, Kristen, and Rachel Tang; and nephews, Cameron and Sol Oram.

A memorial service to celebrate a life well-lived will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 19 at Apex United Methodist Church, 100 South Hughes Street in Apex, NC.

To celebrate Cathy’s life, donations may be made to the Apex United Methodist Church (Youth Choir); or to the Educational Fund for Cathy’s daughter, Abby. Checks can be made payable to “College Wealth 529 for Abigail C. Cameron” and mailed in c/o M. Braswell 1814 White Dogwood Road Apex, NC 27502.
