Clyde Franklin Holmes, 91, of Kinston, formerly of Apex, died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his home in Kinston.

Clyde was born November 15, 1926 to the late James Allen Holmes and Gertie Sears Holmes. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army and was employed as a manager with the Noland Company.

Clyde was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Ruth Ellis Holmes and Son William (Billy) Holmes.

He is survived by his sons, Robert "Bobby" Holmes and his wife, Brenda; Richard Edward Holmes and his wife, Teresa; brother, James "Pete" Holmes and his wife, Pauline; grandchildren, Nicholas Holmes, Tyler Holmes and Abbey Holmes.

A graveside service will be held 11am Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Apex Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10-11am prior to the service at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St, Apex, NC 27502.
