Daniel "Danny" grew up in Apex where he graduated from Middle Creek High School in 2016. Danny earned his Eagle Scout Rank with Troop 232 and spent many years leading scouts while working at Camp Durant. Danny loved the outdoors, hiking, camping and preparing gourmet meals. Danny lived in Cary with his girlfriend, Charley, and his rescued dog Adonis. Danny was always helping people and making sure everyone was safe and included.
A caring and considerate man, Danny was survived by his mother, Mary Zacharias; his grandmother, Liliane Michniak; his older brother, Anthony Michniak and his family; his brother, Henry Zacharias, and wife Kayla, and sisters, Sara and Noelle Zacharias. Also, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Apex Funeral Home, located at 550 W Williams St, Apex, NC 27502, on January 5, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
A funeral mass is scheduled for January 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, located at 3008 Old Raleigh Rd, Apex, NC 27502. A reception will follow the funeral mass.
