

David Bruce Walters, 78, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2020. David was born September 13, 1941 in Newburyport, Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sharon Beevers Walters as well as his three daughters, Wendy Brockelbank, Jodi Zumbach and Courtney Peters and her husband Jay.
David is also survived by his seven grandchildren – Zachary Zumbach (Candace), Andrew Zumbach (Chelsea), Jacob Brockelbank (Erin), Joseph Brockelbank, Jordan Brockelbank, Dylan Peters and Olivia Peters plus three great-grandchildren – Todd Zumbach II, Easton Zumbach and Blayne Brockelbank; brother-in-law Jacob Beevers (Susan) plus many beloved nephews and nieces as well as many dear and faithful friends.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Anne Walters, parents-in-law, Jacob and Georgia Beevers, sisters Ruth Horton, Martha Oertel, Maud Deorocki, sister-in-law Eileen Beevers and beloved son-in-law Todd Zumbach.
David graduated from Northeastern University in Boston in 1964 and worked for General Electric for 35 years. He retired in 1998, and together with Sharon, moved to Holly Springs to join their girls in North Carolina.
David was a devoted sports fan and always pulling for the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots. He and Sharon loved to travel with their lifelong friends, Howard and Nancy Stiles. They visited many places, his favorites being the US National Parks, Scotland and Ireland.
There will be a private, family service at Holly Springs Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
