Dawn Renee McCary

Dawn Renee McCary, age 50, from Holly Springs, NC entered into the presence of God on July 25, 2022. Dawn was born at Travis Air Force Base in Vacaville, CA on September 25, 1971. She grew up in Northern California and came to faith in Jesus Christ at a young age. She often spoke of her fond memories from her early childhood years.

She met her husband, James in 1988. They were married and moved to Belvedere, SC in 1993. Dawn spent her early adult years serving the Lord faithfully alongside her husband in the Aiken County, SC area. She had an amazing singing voice and spent years ministering to others through music and song. Their family moved to Holly Springs, NC in 2009. In 2011, she helped start DFW Finishers, the family owned and operated business. She was the business bookkeeper up until her death.

Dawn enjoyed baking, decorating and working in her yard. She liked to travel, see new places and experience new things. Dawn was also an outstanding homemaker. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her three girls and loving family.

Dawn is preceded in death by her father, Donald Lee Bradstreet; grandmother, Virginia Bradstreet and stepfather, Vernon Jeffery.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, James Lindley McCary; daughters, Monica Pender (Kyle), Elizabeth McCary and Hannah McCary; mother, Susan Jeffery; brother, Mark Bradstreet (Ellen); nephews, Haydn and Davis Bradstreet; uncle, Ken Bradstreet (Barbara); cousin, Tim Bradstreet; father in law, Jimmy McCary (Beth); mother in law, Trudy Mezenski; brother in law, Anthony Mezenski; sister in law, Christina Valente (Lance) and their children, Keira and Jared; niece, Crystal Sexton and many more extended family members.

Family will receive friends and guests on Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Apex Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM at The Shepherd's Church in Cary, NC with a burial to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
