Dorothy Jane Karson

Dorothy was born December 25, 1932 in Arnold, PA to the late Michael and Martha Zavisky Karson. She was a graduate of Arnold High School and was employed with Alcoa Laboratories as their telephone operator for most of her working years. Dorothy loved to cook, collecting and trading many recipes with her friends and relatives. She enjoyed making pirohi with her church friends at Holy Virgin Ukrainian Orthodox Church were she was a lifetime member.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: John Karson, Anne Artman, Sophie Simak, Katherine Karson, Pete Karson, Paul Karson; nieces: Karen Pelczar and Andrea Pelczar Turney (Don).

She is survived by her sister, Mary Pelczar of Apex, NC and ten nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 2-3pm Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC 27502. A prayer service will be held at 2:30 pm in conjunction with the visitation on Wednesday at the funeral home.

There will also be visitation on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 10-11am, at Rusiewicz Funeral Home in Lower Burrell, PA. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary Cemetery in Lower Burrell, PA.

Memorials may be made in Dorothy's honor to Holy Virgin Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Arnold, PA.
