Dr. Eddie Nelson Clark

Dr. Eddie Nelson Clark, 76 of Apex, died Tuesday, October 02, 2012 at Western Wake Cary. Dr. Clark was born in Wake Co, NC on September 6, 1936 to Ralph and Stella Sears Clark. His early dreams became his goals and he moved from the tobacco fields of Friendship to UNC-Chapel Hill. He completed his undergraduate school at UNC-Chapel Hill. He received his DDS from UNC Dental School. Dr. Clark married Susan Taylor in 1958. He attended US Army Flight School and through the NCNG he earned his Master Wings flying helicopter and fixed wing. Dr. Clark retired as a Major in the North Carolina National Guard. Dr. Clark practiced dentistry in Apex for 33 years.

He was a diehard country boy who worked hard and enjoyed life, loved and provided well for his family and served his fellow man. He has known the joy of the wind in his face on his Harley, and the wind at his back as an aviator in his beloved J3 Cub. As Daddy or Granddaddy, he has known the pride and joy of his 3 children and 3 grandchildren. As a farmer he has known the satisfaction of a grain crop planted and harvested, a mowed pasture, or a super crop of tomatoes or hot peppers. He would be the first to say that God has richly blessed his life.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Taylor Clark; children: Nelson (Carrie) Clark; Dwight Clark, and Julia (Richard) Kopacz all of Apex; grandchildren: Rachel Clark, Forrest Davis-Clark, Destiney Kopacz. He is also survived by his siblings: Harold (Ganell) Clark of Royal Beach, FL, Nancy Barnes (fiancé, J.G. Smith) of New Hill, and Donnie (Debbie) Clark of Apex.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 pm Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. Apex. A memorial service will begin at 7:30 PM in the Chapel of Apex Funeral Home.
