Elizabeth Watkins Bass

Lib was born September 10, 1938 in Newton Grove, NC to the late Milton Watkins and Annie Mae Parson Watkins. She was a graduate of Newton Grove High School and Hardbarger Business College. Lib was employed with Dorothea Dix Hospital for over 30 years where she served as financial reimbursement officer. She was an active member of Athens Drive Baptist Church.

Lib was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Watkins, sister, Faye Watkins, son-in-law, Bob Scott, and nephew, Lee Watkins.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James O'Dell Bass; daughters, Angie Repass (Bob) and Kim Scott; son, Steve Bass (Jen); brother, Curtis Watkins (Alice); and four grandchildren, Robbie Repass (Emma), Kristin Repass, Zac Scott and Clay Scott; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Athens Drive Baptist Church, 1601 Athens Drive, Raleigh, NC 27606, with Rev. Tim Howell officiating. A graveside service will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8pm Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St, Apex, NC 27502.
