

Elizabeth Ann “Ellie” Helton, 14,of Apex, NC went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. She was born in Atlanta, GA on November 5, 1999 to Todd Richard and Karen Frances Swanson Helton. She attended high school at Thales Academy at the Apex Campus and was an active youth group member at Crosspointe Church in Cary, NC.
Ellie was an amazing young lady with a compassionate and strong heart. She was a shining light in so many people’s lives. God gave Ellie so many remarkable talents and she was incredibly unique. She was an avid reader and always excelled in her studies. She loved the arts and was incredibly creative. Ellie had an unwavering, constant love for the family and friends in her life. She was hilarious and lit up any room she set foot in. Ellie had gone through so much in her lifetime, and now God has spared her from a life of pain and brought her home to be happy and whole in heaven, where she belongs. Ellie was so admired by her family for her strength and perseverance. Now she is looking over all of her loved ones and will always be there as an angel and guardian for everyone she touched.
She is survived by her loving parents Todd and Karen Helton; her sisters Frances Grace, 10, and Anna Carolina, 7; paternal great-grandmother, Maggie Helton; paternal grandparents Richard and Cindy Helton; maternal grandparents, James and Dail Swanson; paternal uncle, aunt and cousins, Chris and Lori Helton Welker, Kate and Maggie; maternal aunt and cousins, Kristen Swanson Riddick, Margaret and Hallie; maternal uncle, aunt and cousins, Woody and Susan Swanson Axton, Macy and Jacob.
Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 12 to 3 pm at Apex Funeral Home 550 W. Williams St, Apex, NC. There will be a celebration of her life on July 20, 2014 at 3 pm at the Apex Funeral Home Chapel and a burial at Wake Memorial Park 7002 Green School Rd, Cary, NC.
To honor Ellie and celebrate her life the family is encouraging everyone to wear some form of pink, Ellie’s favorite color.
