Errol Otis Marshburn Jr.

Errol O. Marshburn, Jr. of Apex passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012. He was a Raleigh native who attended Broughton High School and graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School. Errol served his country during WWII by enlisting in the Navy and later serving as a Radio Officer of ships for the Merchant Marine. Errol was a class A and Life member of the Professional Golfers Association of America. He had a prolific career as a Head Golf Professional, which spanned 50 years, and took him all over the nation. Errol was a devoted family man, trusted mentor, and friend to many.

Errol was preceded in death by his father, E. O. Marshburn, mother, Esther Pate Marshburn, and son Seth A. Marshburn. He is survived by his wife Kelty, son, Bryan, sister, Sherlyn Kistner, daughter-in-law, Michelle, grandchildren, Sara Marshburn, Jake Manning, and Blake Ashley.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 PM Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. Apex. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 2, 2012 in the Apex Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Apex Cemetery.
