

Geraldine Parker Fort, 71, entered into the welcoming arms of Jesus on Thursday evening, August 6, 2015. She was born and raised in Wilson, NC and attended Wilson County Public Schools. She was a graduate of Darden High School in Wilson, NC and also received her Associates degree in Business Administration.
Geraldine retired with 30 years with the telephone company and 15 years with SAS. She was an active member of Colonial Baptist Church, serving within the Sunday School Program, Day Care and as a Prayer Warrior. She also enjoyed bowling and swimming but most of all spending time with her family and friends.
Geraldine is survived by her husband of 51 years: Jesse Lee Fort, Jr.; son: Gregory Fort, of Wilson; grandson: Vashon Strickland; granddaughter: Moesha J. Fort; great-grandchild: Adrian D. Jones; step-father: Roscoe Roundtree; sisters: Yvonne Roundtree, of Raeford, Elizabeth Coley and husband Joseph, of Raleigh, Venice Watson, of Wilson, Clara Canady, of Wilson, Barbara Allen, of Lucama, and Doris Ann Whitaker and husband Timothy, of Wilson; brother: Wade Allen, of Woodbridge, VA; uncle: Raymond Parker, of Wilson; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father: Eugene, mother: Doris Parker Roundtree, brothers: John Allen and Danny Allen and two uncles and three aunts.
Family will receive friends on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 1-3 pm at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, with interment to follow at Holly Springs Cemetery.
