Faye spent most of her life as a resident of Erie, PA, where she attended Strong Vincent High School. She recently moved to North Carolina to be closer to her youngest grandchildren.
In the late 1970s, she took a job as a dispatcher for Erie Ambulance, which started her on an incredible career in the EMS industry. She completed her training and certification to become an EMT and spent several years as a first responder to the Erie area. In 1983, she joined Emergycare as a founding employee. In 1988, Faye joined the new Erie County 911 call center, eventually rising to Director of Communications. Upon retirement, Faye dedicated herself as a Home Health Aide in the Erie area, providing care and support to several Erie area residents.
She is survived by her four children: Edward Hughes (Karen) Williams, Sharon Anne (Chris) Georgoulias, Theodore Litz (Ashley) Williams, and Lidiya Renee (Vanessa) Williams. Faye was also a proud and loving Mema to six grandsons: Adam Williams of Bangkok, Thailand, Christopher Andrijiw of Denver, CO, Eric (Samantha) Williams of Pottstown, PA, Sam Williams of Burlington, VT, and Elliot and Theo Williams of Apex, NC. Faye is also survived by her sister, Pat Howard of Ohio, and her brothers Russell Litz of Huntsville, AL, and Walter Litz of Erie, PA.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her sisters, Elsie Rice, Karen Hauser, Mary Lou Hartman, Anne Muscarella, as well as three brothers, Ronald “Terry" Litz, Edward Litz, and Mark Litz.
Faye will be remembered for her use of dry humor during difficult times, unwavering love for her family, her delicious meatloaf and goulash, for the many crafts she made over the years as a result of her love of quilting and knitting, and of course, her love of animals.
The family plans to hold a celebration/service in Erie, PA, in 2026. Details will be provided.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Cadance North Raleigh and Amedisys Hospice for their service and dedication to the kind of care our mom needed. Particularly, Braille Harris, Resident Lifestyle Coordinator at Cadance North Raleigh for the special connection she developed with our mom to keep her laughing and busy over the last few months. And also, Klay Parker for the care and compassion he showed as her nurse for these past few months and final days. He made her, and all of us, feel safe and comfortable.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her honor to the ANNA Shelter in Erie, PA.
