

Harry was born in White Plains, NY to the late Henry Alexander Dickson, Sr. and Martha Ferguson Dickson. He worked for the White Plains City School District for 37 years, retiring as Director of School Facilities and Operations in 1985. While employed, he served as President of the New York State Association for Superintendents of School Building and Grounds from 1972 to 73. He served in the 105th Airlift Wing unit of the New York National Guard from 1950 to 1958 and was also a member of the White Plains Zoning Board of Appeals, serving a number of terms.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie Elizabeth Massaro Dickson; son, Henry A. (Hank) Dickson, Jr. and his wife, Christine of Holly Springs; daughter, Jennifer Marie Dickson Schweizer and her husband, Matthew of McGee's Crossroads; four grandchildren, Austin and Faith Dickson of Holly Springs and Jack and Aidan Schweizer of McGee's Crossroads, nieces and nephews, Paul and Judy Terracciano of Hawthorne, NY and Jack and Carol Massaro of Kingston, NY.
A funeral service will be held 11am Friday, January 9, 2015 at Apex United Methodist Church, 100 South Hughes Street, Apex, NC 27502. Interment will follow the service at Holly Springs Cemetery, Earp Street, Holly Springs. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Thursday, January 8th at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St, Apex, NC 27502, and 10:00-10:45am prior to the service at the church on Friday.
