Heyward Frank Maynard

Born to the late Joseph O'Connor Maynard and Grace Wagner Maynard in Apex, NC. Heyward was a loving husband, son and brother. He had a true love for golf and little league baseball in which he coached many teams over his lifetime. After he proudly served in the United States Navy, he was employed by the AT&T Telephone Company for twenty-four years. Heyward was an Account Manager and instrumental in the sale and implementation of 911 systems across the State of North Carolina. He was the owner of a local restaurant, Griffin’s and was also co-owner of Stagger Lee’s Beach Music Club in Raleigh; and an avid Wolfpack fan! He is a member of Green Level Baptist Church.

Heyward was married to his loving wife, Donna Chamblee Maynard for 45 years this past June.

In addition to his wife, Heyward is survived by his son Kenneth Bryant Perry, wife Nicole and two grandchildren McKenzie Perry and Kasey Perry of Garner; brother Ira (Hank) Maynard, wife Linda; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, J.O. Maynard, Jr. of Knightdale.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday October 12 at 2:00 pm with a memorial service celebrating his life at 3:00 pm at Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC 27502.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Green Level Baptist Church.
