J. Charles Pittard

John Charles Pittard, 84, passed away at home on September 26, 2017. Born to the late John S. and Lina Hunter Pittard on August 16, 1933 in Wake County, NC. He is survived by his loving wife, Joy H. Pittard, daughters, Lynda Bryson and husband, Dan, Rebecca "Becky" Hillsgrove and husband, David, grandchildren; Hunter, Davis and Kimberlen Bryson, Kelley and Jonathan Hillsgrove, brother, Louis Pittard and wife, Janet, nieces and nephews, Michael Pittard and wife, Jean and children, Drew and Sarah Pittard, Marshall Williams, Cindy and Leo Morris, and Chris and Tammy Williams. He is preceded in death by brother, David H. Pittard.

He was a graduate of Garner High School and UNC- Chapel Hill. A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Cary where he served in capacity as Sunday school teacher, deacon, and in the choir.

He was an Eagle Scout and very proud of this accomplishment. He also served in the U.S. Army. His occupation, as a certified public accountant for over 50 years, entitled him to become a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 11:00 a.m., Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St., Apex. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at the Town of Apex Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. William D. Lee for all his care.
