Born on January 24, 1982, Jaime touched the lives of those around her with her strength, resilience and unwavering spirit. Despite facing the challenges of her illness, she remained a beacon of hope and inspiration to her family, friends, business associates and all those who knew her. Known for her love of people, exploring new destinations, the Eagles, puzzling, and her family, Jaime’s greatest joy in life was being the mother of Hayes (10) and Connor (7).
Jaime’s health journey began when she was 24 years old and lasted 18 years. During that time she met and married John MacDonell. Jaime’s greatest joy in life was being a mother. She once wrote to the boys, “You both are the loves of my life (along with Daddy). Thanks for being my boys. I’m so very lucky that God chose you to be mine.”
Jaime is survived by her mother and father, Linda and Bob Buckley and her sister, Jen Gassen (Scott) and their two daughters Parker and Molly. Jaime‘s professional endeavors were substantial. After receiving a degree from the University of Richmond in Business Administration (2004), she then pursued and attained an MBA through The George Washington University in Washington DC (2011). During graduate school, Jaime traveled to South America and Europe where she enjoyed studying and the European culture.
After receiving her degrees, Jaime obtained a position with a Seattle based software firm (Avalara) and then leveraged that position into a leadership position with a west coast software firm (Zendesk). It was the perfect opportunity for her to work from home and still pursue her professional ambitions.
Throughout her life, Jaime embodied kindness, compassion and respect for others. Her selflessness and concern for others knew no bounds leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she met.
