I only knew Jimmy through the stories Chris told, but I felt like I knew him so well. Jimmy reminded me so much of my son, and so Chris and I enjoyed trading stories about the two of them. Chris always had one to tell about Jimmy, and he did it with the biggest grin on his face. It got to the point where I looked forward to going to the office on Monday to see what Jimmy story Chris had from the weekend. You could tell just how much Chris loved Jimmy. 

I am so sorry for your loss Chris and Tracy. I can't imagine what you all are going through. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

I met Jimmy in 6th grade and ever since then I knew he was the light of any room that he walked in. He always made everyone laugh and even if he was getting a rise out of you, he was doing it with a good heart and just to make people laugh. Jimmy is the kind of friend I will always remember as being there for who ever he could. We lost touch at the end of high school but I will have you in my heart forever, Jimmy. Rest in Peace. 

I did not know Jimmy but for the stories I've heard from Chris, who beams when he talks about any of his kids. I imagined Jimmy had an amazing spirit and made everyone laugh from the stories I've heard, but I've spent the morning reading memories from his friends and they have solidified that what I've heard have not been just "proud Dad" exaggerations. My sincere condolences to all of you who have lost this young person who was such a joy to your lives, but most of all to the Flanagan family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you remember the smiles he brought you for the years that you had together.

Thank you Jimmy for always making me laugh and putting a smile on my face. I hated school and was always grumpy but you always knew how to make my day better! I will always remember the time you asked me if you could take a nap in my car and I let you even though I trusted no one with my car.  You were an amazing person and friend. Rest In Peace.

Jimmy. you were like a brother to me. everytime i saw you it made my day. i will never forget all the laughs we shared. you were an inspiration to me and my family. everytime i was with you it was a blast. i will miss you and think about you for the rest of my life. ill see you again someday buddy. i love you 

The memories we’ve had are unforgettable. Growing up trying to fight each other every time we stepped out onto the hockey rink to becoming the duo of the team was unbelievable. Then onto becoming a family as a whole was probably one of the greatest times of my life. You were a brother I never had. I love you Jimmy. My heart goes out to the Flanagan family for everything y’all have done for my family and I. You all are still in my heart and mind. Fly high Jimmy, I’ll see you someday. 

I remember a very rough patch of my life where Jimmy was the first person to reach out to see if I was ok. Jimmy and I were never super close, but him reaching out is a testament to his character. Kind, generous, and caring enough that it didn’t matter whether we were best friends or simply acquaintances, he wanted to make sure that someone he cared about knew that he was there for them. His empathy for others, his infectious energy, and his thousand watt smile brought a joy to Holly Springs that will never be forgotten.

My deepest condolences to The Flanagan family and those closest to Jimmy.

I tried to kick you one time in fourth grade, probably when you said something to the effect of girls not being able to play soccer as well as guys (I could, at least at that age, and you knew that, but you were just trying to get a rise out of me). You caught my ankle mid-high kick and flipped me right on my a**. I knew I had met my match. I passed you a note asking if you liked me or not that same week and only found out a year ago that the answer had been yes the whole time. The little nine year old girl in me, who had filled diaries with your name in hearts, soared with joy that day. You were my first crush and my last love. I will miss you as long as I live, Jimmy. As long as I live.

I had the pleasure of having multiple classes with Jimmy in high school, and always made it a point to sit next to him. His sense of humor and genuinely kind spirit was second to none. You definitely made my high school experience a memorable one. Holly Springs won’t be the same without you, Jimmy. 

I met you in sixth grade. You were the first boy to ever ask me out, and you were the first person I’d ever heard say that their favorite color is ‘clear.’ You were also the only person I’d ever seen wear a blonde mullet wig for yearbook pictures. From making everyone around you feel like they were in on your jokes, to talking hockey with your eyes wide open, to joining the army, there is not way to quantify the infinite laughs and smiles you are responsible for. Thanks for all of it. It would be a truly impossible challenge to forget you. 

Jimmy was the light of the locker room. Even after a tough loss he would always find a way to make everyone laugh. I’ve never met someone with as much drive as he had. He was always a great supporter of his friends and teammates and made an impact on many peoples lives. Rest easy Jimmy

Jimmy, You made a profoundly positive impact on all of us. Our children considered you their older brother and you were a part of our family. Always blessing us with your smile and laughter. Thank you for your service to our country, your friendship, your passion and the relationships you formed with each one of us. Our condolences go out to your family. You are and will always be a shining star.  You will be missed but never forgotten.

Jimmy was the life of the party wherever he went. His radiating positivity could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He was truly an incredible person and he will be so missed. We love you, Jimmy.

Too many memories to recollect but what I can always remeber of you is that uou was one awesome human being. No one could ever say when you were upset, mad, or angry because a smile and a joke is what you continued to bless us with. Besides bein a great person, being a soldier was the other easy thing to be. More soldiers should walk in your shoes due to your awesomeness. Rest easy my friend and shine bright like always. 

Flanny - you made me smile. Coming to my office with sci-fi gifts from the dollar store just because you knew it would make me smile. Our trip to San Antonio when we were TDY and all of the photo bombs will never be forgotten. I'm not allowed to admit this but you were by far one of my favorite Soldiers and I will never understand this. Rest in Heaven, Sunny-Boi. You are loves and will be forever missed.

Jimmy was one of the funniest happiest people i’ve ever met in my life there was never a time i could be upset when i was around him. any picture i have of him there’s a smile on his face i will miss him so much and i’m greatfull i has the chance to know him ❤️ love and miss you jimmy 

I will miss our many conversations that we would have for no other purpose than to make everyone around us uncomfortable. Then again I will miss the real ones that we had in private even more......

I went to school with Jimmy for 7 years, and I can honestly say that he lit up the hallways each and every day. There was not a moment in which he did not impact others with his positivity and laughter. He was so loving, and caring, always. He was always the funniest kid in our class. Everyone knew who he was, and loved him. Nobody will ever forget the year he wore a wig in his school picture or that time he directed traffic in the parking lot. Even in the years following high school, he never failed to put a smile on my face.  He was just so genuine and wanted everyone to always be happy. He will always be in my heart, and I know the rest of our community will hold him in our hearts forever. 

Jimmy was the sweetest and most kind hearted person you could ever meet. Without a doubt he was the “LIFE OF THE PARTY”. He always found a way to make you smile or laugh no matter what was going on. Thank you for always bringing a smile to my face. We love you and miss you dearly. ❤️

I remember when you and your family came to visit, we all gathered at Aunt Liz' house. I can't even remember how old everyone was, but what I do remember is us beating each other up with sock em boppers in the guest room. Still makes me smile remembering that.  I'll always remember those memories and more importantly, you. Rest in peace, we will all miss you. I will always be there for your family, I can promise you that.

I had the pleasure of teaching Jimmy and both his sisters at HSHS. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time.

I went to Middle School with Jimmy and we ran in the same friend group in Highschool. The news of his passing has been devastating and I wish there was something any of us could have done. He was such a loved member of the community and he will be missed. My prayers are with his family. 

Words can’t express how much we all miss you. Our group message with all the guys just isn’t the same. I love you and hope wherever you are you feel nothing but loved and at peace. Thank you for sitting at my pool parking lot from 4-6am talking about life as we watched the sun come up. I can’t imagine having never had met you, you changed all of our lives and you will not ever be forgotten. I will miss you everyday till I can see you again. Have a beer for us up there bud, we will have one for you down here. Sending all my love to you and your family please shine your light down on us whenever you get a chance. We love you infinitely.

   He was the one that just made you laugh.  We are so saddened to hear the news and can not imagine what you are going through right now.

    Tyler just shared some pictures with me of his times with Jimmy.  When I asked about one in particular where they had fake tattoos on their stomachs under their hockey jerseys, Tyler filled me in that they were "One Direction"  tattoos that they won in a gumball machine.  Yes, always the comedian, boy band tattoos  made perfect sense!  

    I wish he understood what an affect he had on those around him.  He made everyone happy.  I  am thankful we had the chance to know him.
