Janelle Charlotte Engstrand Hudson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janelle Hudson who left this world suddenly on December 21, 2024 surrounded by her children, daughter-in-law, and grandson. She was 81. Janelle was a caring mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend.

A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late Alvar Engstrand and Cecelia Engstrand. After graduating from high school, Janelle chased her dreams to become a nurse. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse and later graduated from Sinclair Community College (Dayton, Ohio) with an associate’s degree in nursing and became a Registered Nurse.

Janelle’s family and friends meant the world to her. She had passions for nursing, gardening, reading, and she loved animals. Janelle thrived on travelling the world, having visited 89 countries. She was always game for adventure.

Janelle is survived by her sister Karen Celepli; her daughter Denise Nesbitt; her son Eric and his wife, Kathryn; grandson Hunter; her brother-in-law Michael Lund; and her nephews; Tony Toma, Richard Lund, and James Lund.

She was preceded in death by her infant son Dean, her sister Susan Lund, and brother-in-law Kazim Celepli.

A service celebrating Janelle's life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Apex Funeral Home.
