Every time I hear a Steely Dan tune you pop up in my head! Miss you brother! See you around the bend!

Sure do miss you Jesse! Everytime a Steely Dan song comes on you pop up in my mind.I still have the pogo stick! Thanks Buddy🌷

I met Jesse at Local Bar and always enjoyed our chats. Jesse was always kind no matter our range of conversation topics. 

My heart is broken by the passing of my good friend Max Fine, aka Buddy, aka Jesse Bennett, we were good friends from childhood and spent many a night riding around in the countryside of Alamance County playing 8 track tapes and playing foosball at the local parlor or pool at the local hall. I have never and never will  find a friend like Buddy! We moved to Myrtle Beach together in 1975 for the summer, working in a campground for 2.75 cent an hour, living in an old motel they condemned 2 years later and had the time of our lives! Buddy had already been accepted into UNCC and we lived that summer like nothing mattered and never would. We rode around in a John boat in a sewer pond while the aerator pump was being repaired for three days, dodging the goat designated to keep out the campers and listening to the Rolling Stones and P Funk on the walkman! 
  When Buddy ended up in Dallas with Texas Instruments the first thing he did was call us to come out for the Stones show at the Cotton Bowl, I think it was 81, and we ended up seeing them 2 nights in a row and when I married my wife in 89 he paid for me, my wife Debbie and Jeff Bradshaw and his wife to fly out to Dallas and see them again at the Cotton Bowl.! We had never and probably never will be treated to such kindness as Buddy and Wendy treated us to, the breakfast casserole was awesome!
   I can't put into words what this loss means to me, I loved Buddy as much as any friend I ever had, we really went through some good times and I miss you Max, I regret not seeing you as much as I wanted to these last few years but never doubt what your friendship meant to me.....peace

Jesse is one of the most wise and smart persons I have met. It is a huge shock to me as I always look him as my job mentor. 
He came into our lives and left footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same.

Jesse was one of a kind.  I will most remember about him our long conversations about anything and everything, his sweet and gentle nature and his quiet kindness.  He was a good and loving person and will be missed by many.  I wish I had seen him more recently.  Sending much love to Wendy, Sydney, Trevor and Jesse's brother David.  So sorry for this loss.

I heard with deep regret and profound sadness that my friend Jesse Bennett passed away. It is a personal loss and a loss to everyone who knew and worked with him. 

Jesse and I graduated with Ph.D's under Professor Som Gupta at SMU. We actually met 13 years later at Sony Ericsson where I was CTO and hired him, impressed by his years of experience with TI and his extraordinary talent as a system engineer. I want to share how good Jesse was at what he did.

A year after we formed Sony Ericsson we were losing market share. The product team came up with a unique 65K color screen phone called the T61X. However, there was no driver chip for the screen. We launched phones every March. By May the previous year there was no chip or solution. Jesse and the team found one at a Japanese firm, but it had to be modified in short order. Jesse led that project and delivered it against all odds to meet the software deadline. The T61x launched on time and triggered the company’s turnaround. Within a year he won the coveted best engineering contribution award for the design of a chip, code named Marika, which I maintain powered the most successful era of Sony Ericsson phones. 

For a while we worked apart, as I went to Sweden and he went to Wavecom. I believe in 2009 he formed Smart Machine Networks. We spoke on how to market his brilliant idea and I actually have retained the pitch I made for him. Anyway, that did not go far but as soon as I got to BlackBerry  and started Radar I called him. Jesse was fantastic partner to work with, as we thought alike. BlackBerry Radar's cargo sensing and load algorithms are examples of our collaboration.

I will remember his honesty, our debates on algorithm math, the brilliance and most of all as a trusted friend. I had the privilege to work with him and he was a gem. Sabitha and I send our deepest condolences to Wendy, Sydney and Trevor and his entire family.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Wendy Bennett; mother, Dr. Shelby Dill Bennett; daughter, Sydney Bennett; son, Trevor Bennett; brothers, David Bennett (Angela) and Don Bennett (Susan).   He was preceded in death by father, William Jennings Bennett; and brother, Denver N. Williams.
