Julia E. Jacobs Herndon

Julia Elizabeth Jacobs Herndon, 73, of Morrisville, died Friday, November 9, 2012 at Rex Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Herndon was a native of Chatham County, NC and born on June 19, 1939 to George Washington Jacobs and Lillian Nannie Seagroves Jacobs. She worked and retired after 30 years from Weck in Durham. She enjoyed cooking and helping others, traveling, organizing gospel singings and reading her Bible.

She is survived by her daughter: Darlene Herndon, brother: Doug and his wife Linda Jacobs, Sister-in-law: Lessie Tillman, Brother-in-law: Clarence and Christine Herndon. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and her aunt, Lois Moore.

She is also survived by pets; Cole, Ramsey, Tarheel, and Casey who will miss their Granny.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Levy E. Herndon in 2008.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Monday, November 12, 2012 at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Durham Rescue Mission or SPCA of Wake County.
