Ken was born December 1, 1943 in Erie, PA to the late Kenneth O. Smith and Louise Owen Smith. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was employed with IBM for over 37 years. Ken enjoyed golfing, hiking and volunteering at Wheels 4 Hope.
He is survived by his wife, Teri Smith; daughter, Kimberly Kay Adkins (Dean); son, Steve Smith (Michelle); grandchildren, Clayton and Elise Adkins; brothers Stuart Smith (Gigi) and Ray T. Smith (Margarita).
A memorial service will be held 2pm Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St, Apex, NC 27502. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
