Lynette Peterson Hale, 55 of Apex, passed away on July 18, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Her husband was holding her hand when her pain finally subsided, and her spirit returned to her Heavenly Father.
Lynette was born July 6, 1967 in Granger, UT to her parents, Jay and Carol Peterson. She was the only daughter in a family with three brothers. On July 11, 1986 she was sealed for time and all eternity to Thomas Hale in the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Together they raised four sons and one daughter and now have seven beautiful grandchildren. In her words: “All I ever wanted in life was to be a mother.” She put all her love, time, and energy into her family. She had a special gift with and love for children, teaching them through church callings and working in a resource classroom with those that had special needs. She especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. “Grandma Nettie” was a very special part of their lives.
She has a firm and abiding testimony of Jesus Christ. She was always looking for ways to love and serve those around her as the Savior did. Few people that met her left without feeling loved and important. She loved music and was an accomplished singer as well as a pianist. She loved the natural world and delighted in flowers, trees, and the beautiful, colorful birds in her backyard – especially cardinals. The beach was her happy place and she loved being there with her family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jay Peterson and brother, Brian Peterson.
Lynette will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 36 years, Thomas Hale; sons, Gregory Hale (Brianna), Eric Hale (Liz), Matthew Hale, and Jacob Hale; daughter, Rachel Anderson (Brandon); mother, Carol Peterson; brothers, Steven Peterson and David Peterson (Lacie); grandchildren, Griffyn Heugly, Eli Heugly, Penny Hale, Gwen Hale, Emily Grace Hale, Peter Hale, and Kaladin Anderson.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Apex, NC. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh NC for family members and invited friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to Camp Hobé which provided tremendous support when Lynette's daughter underwent cancer treatment as a child.
Fond memories and expressions of condolences can be shared online at apexfuneral.net for the Hale family.
