I’m just hearing the news about Mark. I worked for his Father a few years back. Mark and Cheryl treated me like a son. I’m devastated to hear this news. My heart goes out to Cheryl and the rest of the Delacourt Family. Rest In Peace Mark. Fly high!

He was always a smiling face when I dropped the kids off at Youth!!❤️  Very personable.❤️ Loved his service to the young kids!! ❤️ Their memories of youth group will include him, for sure!!!

I can do bookends of the first and last time I was with Mark. 

The first was many years ago. I walked over to the house to tell Cheryl that her middle school kid was sitting on the roof in the back of the house.  Mark answered the door. I had not met him before,  and felt a little strange telling him. He just shook his head and thanked me. But, there were many better meet ups after over the years.

The last memory I have of Mark was last January, 2022. I'd bought an oversized and extremely heavy second hand steel file cabinet. I went for help after trying 2 others. I told Cheryl and Mark that I'd scraped the back seat of my car getting it out, and had dragged and pushed it on plastic sheeting down my sidewalk to my steps. I had not figured out how to go from there. Mark was excited to help. Cheryl cheered us on as we got it up the steps. I was thanking him, but he insisted he drag it into my bedroom closet and position it just right. I will never forget his kindness (and muscles) that day. I was sure I'd be robbed if I had been stuck with a file cabinet on my sidewalk. Mark was there to help, any way he could, when I was really stuck on a Sunday afternoon. Thank God for people like Mark!! I hope all good memories come flooding back when the family needs them the most from here on.




May the peace that comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days ahead…please accept our deepest and most heartfelt condolences. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

What a loss! Mark had a way of making people feel comfortable and secure. His humor and wit was dry, subtle and it’s what made me feel at ease around him. He was a wonderful person and great to share Sunday school with! I will miss you, Mark. Rest easy and when you run I to Harold Davis, give him a hug for me! 

We fondly remember all the fun we had with you all as neighbors in Garner: laughing while playing games, sliding down hills in snow, eating together, commiserating and trying to help each after Fran and Floyd, etc.  Mark always had a joyful laugh and was fun to be around.  May God strengthen and encourage you especially in this time.  You are in our prayers.
