Patricia "Pat" Anne Wickham

Pat was raised in Tarboro, NC by her parents Fred and Hazel Vaughan. Her mother was an accomplished organist and choir director, so naturally Pat followed in her mother’s footsteps. Pat loved music, was actively involved in the community and her local church. She majored in music at Meredith College and was once named Women of the Year.

She moved to Cary after marrying her childhood sweetheart, Raymond L (Pete) Wickham. They raised two children (Raymond II and Shari). She became an active member of Ephesus Baptist Church and held the position of Organist and Choir Director for many years. She worked at NC State and retired from the university in 1995. Once retired, she continued to be actively involved in the community and her new church home, New Horizons Fellowship.

Pat never met a stranger and she along with her sister in Christ, Burie, never passed up the opportunity to spread their love of God to anyone who would lend an ear. Pat touched the lives of numerous people and she always said her life was enriched by every soul that crossed her path.

Pat is survived by her son: Raymond L Wickham II and wife Phyllis; her daughter: Shari and husband Braxton Jones; her grandson: Raymond L Wickham III and wife Elizabeth; her granddaughter: Faith Ciampa and husband Matt; and by her three great-grandchildren: Caleb Wickham, Joshua Wickham & Liam Ciampa.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 29 at Pat’s home from 10 am – 6 pm.

Visitation will begin at 5 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at New Horizons Fellowship, 820 E Williams St., Apex, NC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to New Horizons Fellowship, PO Box 1445, Apex, NC 27502, the church that Pat loved and served.
